MP3 250:
R - Pilot Sports 130/70/12 - 2700 mi
MP3 400:
F - Pilot Sports 120/70/12 - 6500 mi (major cupping)
F - Gold Standard 130/70/12 - Current SUPERSIZED (had to remove mud flaps. Put the speedo 2 to 3 mph closer to accurate)
R - Gold Standard 140/70/14 - 5300 mi (way beyond wear marker and dangerously thin)
R - Gold Standard 140/70/14 - 3300 mi (At wear marker will change in a month @ 4500 mi)
R - City Grip 140/60/14 - installing in 1 month SPORTBIKE STYLE TIRE
(everyone else is oversizing the rear, I am undersizing mine. Hoping to increase torque and takeoff.)
I ride the trike very hard and fast so mine don't last as long as others do.
can you post some pics of those 130/70 installed on the fronts please.
Also tell us the good bad and ugly on the differences when riding and cornering as compared to the 120's Thanks
130's vs 120's
Good - 10% straighter tracking in the straights and corners and less drift on straights
Bad - 10% less active steering available in corners or more difficult to actively steer through a corner
Ugly - none unless you don't like the appearance of the larger tires on the front
No change in the ride only in the handling
thank yoou for the pics and details . You just helped me make up my mind to change my fronts to the 130's for sure.
