Vad är nu detta?

Den korta versionen blir en samling regler för hur handel med mat mellan länder ska göras, låter inte så ”farligt” eller hur?

Tyvärr så är det så mycket mer än bara det, och fast detta i oerhörd grad kommer att påverka alla (till det sämre) så har informationen helt uteblivit. (med vilje som jag ser det)

Grunden för detta är att de stora "pharma" bolagen nu ”förlorar” stora inkomster till alternativa hälsoprodukter vilka inte går att patentera, samt att det effektivaste sättet att kontrollera människor är via mat, mycket effektivare än något vapen.

Med en tidplan för införande 2009-12-31 så brinner det nu i knutarna att informera sig själv om detta, för din egen skull och dina anhörigas.

Ni måste själva se och läsa vad Codex Alimentarius innebär för jag tror knappt att ni skulle tro mig om jag spaltade upp det, så nedan så finns två föreläsningar som täcker det mesta, jag rekommenderar er verkligen att titta på dessa.

När jag tittade på Ian R Crane i Codex Alimentarius dokumentären i första posten där han nämner Tony Blair som EU president så lyfte jag lite på ögonbrynen, det mesta andra vet jag stämmer för jag har kollat upp det så gott jag kunnat.

Codex Alimentarius,
Detta är något som smyger allt närmare och det nedan är Kanadas försök till implementation.
Eftersom allt sker i smyg, svårt att veta hur många länder som dom "lyckats" med detta så här långt.

Det finns ännu mer pengar i att "behandla" friska människor (receptbelägga vitaminer m.m.) så därför backas det hårt av medicin industrin och då folk helst vill äta hälsosamt så backas och drivs detta dessutom hårt av bolag som Monsanto eftersom folk inte vill ha GMO men med Codex Alimentarius kommer vi att tvingas till det och att "avstå" från möjligheten att styra våra val och vad vi "stoppar i oss" själva,

Verkar ha rullat igång nu, motsvarande händer i Kanada men jag har inte hittat någon bra artikel ännu.

Alternativ medicin och vitaminer m.m. omsätter många miljarder/år och är i stadigt ökande då många av oss mer och mer undviker de gängse medikamenterna.

Då dessa (supplement/vitaminer) inte går att patentera så väljer man att ta en annan väg genom att lagstifta bort konkurrensen och endast låta "big pharma" få kontroll över denna del av marknaden åstadkommet via lobby verksamhet och i stort obegränsade ekonomiska resurser, detta är vad Codex Alimentarius ytterst handlar om som jag ser det.

Vad resultatet för folkhälsan blir kan man bara spekulera i, men knappast blir det bra.

NEW curbs on vitamin and mineral pills by Brussels are threatening to push hundreds of UK health food stores out of business with the loss of up to 4,000 jobs.


VITAMINS: One in three women takes some form of health food supplement

Campaigners say the EU Commission’s plans will hit hundreds of their best-selling supplements, including vitamins A, C, and D, folic acid, calcium and iron.

Many of these products could fall foul of changes to EU laws because their vitamin or mineral content would be illegally high, according to the Consumers For Health Choice campaign.

It warns that the loss of these key products would force up to 700 health food stores to close.

Roger Craddock, legal director of health food chain Holland & Barrett, which supports the campaign, said: “We do not believe this legislation is necessary in the UK, as our food supplements market is radically different from other EU member states.”

The EU is expected to make an announcement within weeks detailing its new permitted levels for vitamins and minerals in food supplements. Other products affected will be vitamins E, K, and B, magnesium and zinc.

Mr Craddock said: “The decision could actually encourage consumers to buy the products from an unregulated environment over the internet where they could be purchasing poor quality or even fake products.”

The CHC campaign, which has 11,000 UK members, says France and Germany are pushing the European Commission to legislate to allow only low-dose levels of vitamins and minerals to be used in food supplements. A spokesman for the group said: “The UK is one of only a few countries pressing for higher levels. We will simply be outvoted in the European decision-making process.”

David Adams, spokesman for the Health Food Manufacturers’ Association, said: “Our research suggests that this issue will have a major impact resulting in both store closures and job losses.”

Britons spend £396million a year on vitamin tablets and supplements and sales have remained strong despite the recession. One in three women takes some form of health food supplement, as does one in four men.

ANH-USA Victory! Supplements Are Exempted From Codex Language in Food Safety Bill

The FDA Food Modernization Act (S. 510), also referred to as the “Food Safety” bill, has been modified to exempt dietary supplements from language that otherwise creates a slippery slope toward U.S. harmonization with Codex Alimentarius. ANH-USA worked to protect the natural health community from this dangerous provision that threatened access to high quality, therapeutic supplement doses by working with key senators to modify the language, now for the second time.



The most worrisome provision of the bill initially required the Food and Drug Agency (FDA) to recommend that U.S. foreign Herbal supplementstrading partners harmonize with Codex. This odd language was no doubt very intentional. How could we recommend harmonization to other countries if we rejected it for the U.S.? So in effect we were committing ourselves to a much more restrictive regulatory regime for supplements.

As the Senate moved forward with the Food Safety bill, Senator Harkin (D-IA), committee chair, working closely with Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), promised to see what could be done to make absolutely clear this legislation was not intended to impact our access to dietary supplements. At that time, Senator Harkin modified the Codex provision, asking the FDA to consider “whether and how” to recommend U.S. foreign trading partners harmonize. This was a very important change and a tremendous show of support from both Senators, but we were still concerned that the inclusion of Codex language in the bill could be used to support future U.S. harmonization with Codex standards on dietary supplements.

ANH-USA worked with our allies in the Senate over the past several months to include additional language providing stronger protection for supplements. New language has now been added specifically stating, “Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect the regulation of dietary supplements.”

The Codex Alimentarius was initially developed to establish international food safety standards and regulate ingredients of food products. However, there is great concern that if the U.S. harmonizes with Codex standards, which are expected to follow Europe’s increasing ban on supplements, our access to supplements will be lost and even our food standards may be compromised. Although ANH-USA considers the new exemption a huge victory, it only applies to dietary supplements. The U.S. is still at risk of harmonization with other Codex food standards.

ANH-USA is especially grateful to Senators Harkin and Hatch for their leadership, continued dedication to the natural health community, and most recently, their show of support protecting our supplements from Codex harmonization. The Senate is expected to take up the Food Safety bill any day now. As the legislative process moves forward we will keep our members up to date on our efforts and where appropriate, we’ll ask for your help to protect supplements from increased government intrusion. The House version of the Food Safety bill, already passed, is especially worrisome. We will continue to make every effort, with your help, to ensure that the House version does not become law.

Har du inte läst denna tråd innan så ta och gör det nu, resultatet är att det inte kommer att gå att köpa vitaminer och dylikt som har en styrka som spelar någon roll, och sådant som spelar roll blir recept belagt.

De enda som kommer att ha råd med certifieringen är "Big Pharma" som är trött på att tappa inkomster till alternativen.

A critical study published in the scientific journal Toxicology  casts serious doubts over the methods being considered by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European Commission to limit dosages of vitamin and mineral food supplements across the European Union (EU).

Lead author of the Toxicology article, Robert Verkerk PhD, scientific and executive director of Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) International, considers the proposed methods for determining ‘maximum permitted levels’ as “fatally flawed”. Dr Verkerk and colleagues have made extensive representations concerning nutrient risk analysis to European and international authorities in the past, however, the Toxicology paper represents the most thorough scientific critique undertaken to-date.

Dr Verkerk claims that outputs from the models most favoured by European authorities have never been subject to proper scientific validation. The paper reveals that proposed maximum amounts for some vitamins and minerals are so low they may even be exceeded in a single junk meal. “The risk analysis methods being used for nutrients”, stated Dr Verkerk, “have been only slightly adapted from those used to limit our exposure to environmental chemicals like mercury, pesticides or dioxins. Nutrients cannot be treated in the same way because without them, unlike with environmental toxins, we suffer serious adverse health effects or die.”.................mera

The global effort to outlaw herbs, vitamins and supplements is well under way, and in just four months, hundreds of herbal products will be criminalized in the UK and across the EU. It's all part of an EU directive passed in 2004 which erects "disproportionate" barriers against herbal remedies by requiring them to be "licensed" before they can be sold.

It's called the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC.

The licensing requirements, however, were intentionally designed to make sure that virtually no herbs could ever meet them. It costs from $125,000 to $180,000 to license a single herb with the EU, and since herbs cannot be patented and don't have the monopolistic pricing found in pharmaceuticals, there's simply not enough profit margin in most herbs to justify such huge expenditures from any one company.

But that's sort of the point. Governments of the world have been conspiring with the pharmaceutical industry for decades to destroy the competition by outlawing nutritional supplements, herbal remedies and many other forms of natural medicine.........mera

Patients have lost access to hundreds of herbal medicines today, after European regulations came into force.

Sales of all herbal remedies, except for a small number of popular products for 'mild' illness such as echinacea for colds and St John's Wort for depression have been banned.

For the first time traditional products must be licensed or prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner.


The Government allowed access to some unlicensed manufactured herbal medicines via a statutory register

Both herbal remedy practitioners and manufacturers fear they could be forced out of business as a result.

Some of the most  commonly used products were saved after the Health Secretary Andrew Lansley approved a plan for the Health Professions Council to establish a register of practitioners supplying unlicensed herbal medicines.

However, many remedies were lost as it was only open to those who could afford the licensing process which costs between £80,000 to £120,000.

At least 50 herbs, including horny goat weed (so-called natural Viagra), hawthorn berry, used for angina pain, and wild yam will no longer be stocked in health food shops, says the British Herbal Medicine Association.

The 2004 EU directive demands that a traditional herbal medicinal product must be shown to have been in use for 30 years in the EU – or at 15 years in the EU and 15 years elsewhere – for it to be licensed.

The UK drug safety watchdog, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Agency, has issued more than a dozen alerts in the past two years, including a warning last month over a contaminated weight loss pill called Herbal Flos Lonicerae (Herbal Xenicol) due to concerns over possible side-effects.

Mr Lansley, in a written statement, said the Government wanted to ensure continuing access to unlicensed herbal medicines via a statutory register for practitioners ‘to meet individual patient needs’.

Acupuncture falls outside the EU directive and so remains unaffected.

Prince Charles, a long-standing supporter of complementary therapies, has voiced his support for formal regulation of herbal practitioners.

Up til now the industry has been covered by the 1968 Medicines Act. This was drawn up when only a small number of herbal remedies were available.

But recent studies show that at least six million Britons have used a herbal medicine in the past two years.

Professor George Lewith, professor of health research at Southampton University, said: ‘Evidence for the efficacy of herbal medicines is growing; they may offer cheap, safe and effective approaches for many common complaints.’
